Our Day Out - The Musical
Our Day Out is a fantastic show that broke Box Office Records when it premiered here in September last year. The show returns in Autumn 2010 and looks set to be another smash hit!
Our Day Out was originally written in 1976 as a TV Drama. It was rewritten for the stage in 1983, and has become one of the most popular musicals for schools to perform. Willy Russell always felt its potential as a full blown musical had not been realised and he has now reworked the script and added some great new songs.
Willy Russell, widely regarded as Liverpool’s foremost living playwright, has written plays such as Blood Brothers, Educating Rita, Stags and Hens and Shirley Valentine. He is an approved author on the National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and is relevant to GCSE and A-level students of English and Performing Arts.
Our Day Out - The Musical is perfect for schools and colleges. It is fun, witty, meaningful and the story contains key issues and themes to explore in the classroom. The new musical numbers add to a show that is already the kind of play that young people love to be a part of and has captured the imagination of thousands of students.
